NOT “SAFE” LIKE LIFE IS EASY.
SAFE LIKE:
    •    YOUR BODY IS NOT BRACING ALL DAY.
    •    YOUR BREATH IS NOT LOCKED UP.
    •    YOU ARE NOT SCANNING EVERY PERSON FOR THREAT.
    •    YOU ARE NOT WAITING FOR THE NEXT HIT EVERY FIVE MINUTES.

AND THEN YOUR MIND DOES SOMETHING THAT FEELS CONFUSING:

IT STARTS LOOKING FOR A FIGHT.

NOT BECAUSE YOU ARE DRAMA.
NOT BECAUSE YOU LOVE CHAOS.
BUT BECAUSE YOUR MIND WAS BUILT FOR ONE JOB FOR YEARS:

SURVIVE.

AND A SURVIVAL MIND DOES NOT UNDERSTAND PEACE.
PEACE FEELS LIKE THE MOMENT RIGHT BEFORE SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS.

    1.    PREDICTS PAIN.
IT RUNS FUTURE SCENARIOS BECAUSE IT THINKS THAT PREPARATION WILL PREVENT LOSS.
    2.    CREATES CONTROL.
IF IT CAN’T CONTROL THE WORLD, IT WILL CONTROL YOU WITH FEAR, DOUBT, AND URGENCY.
    3.    CALLS STILLNESS ‘DANGER’.
SILENCE FEELS LIKE YOU ARE “NOT DOING ENOUGH.”
REST FEELS LIKE YOU ARE “FALLING BEHIND.”
PEACE FEELS LIKE YOU ARE “ABOUT TO LOSE IT ALL AGAIN.”

THIS IS WHY SOME MEN FINALLY GET OUT OF THE FIRE…
AND THEN WALK BACK IN.

NOT BECAUSE THEY WANT PAIN.
BUT BECAUSE PAIN IS FAMILIAR.
AND THE MIND WOULD RATHER LIVE IN FAMILIAR HELL
THAN ENTER UNKNOWN PEACE.]

~2. FOR THE THREE-SIGNS-YOU-ARE OUT OF THE WAR.

[HERE IS HOW YOU KNOW YOU ARE NOT IN THE OLD LIFE ANYMORE:

  1. YOUR BODY RELAXES WITHOUT PERMISSION.

YOU NOTICE YOUR SHOULDERS DROP.
YOUR JAW SOFTENS.
YOUR GUT UNCLENCHES.
YOU BREATHE WITHOUT TRYING.

THAT DOES NOT HAPPEN IN WAR.

  1. YOU STOP NEEDING CONFLICT TO FEEL REAL.

IN WAR, YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM ONLY FEELS “ALIVE” WHEN THERE IS PRESSURE.
IN PEACE, YOU START TO FEEL ALIVE IN QUIET.
THAT FEELS STRANGE AT FIRST.
IT CAN EVEN FEEL EMPTY.

BUT IT IS NOT EMPTY.
IT IS SPACE.

  1. YOU CAN THINK ABOUT THE FUTURE WITHOUT DREAD.

YOU START THINKING:
“WHAT DO I WANT TO BUILD?”
INSTEAD OF:
“WHAT DO I HAVE TO SURVIVE NEXT?”

THAT SHIFT IS NOT SMALL.
THAT IS A NEW LIFE.]

~3. FOR THE TRAP.

[THE MIND WILL TRY TO START A WAR.

WHEN YOUR BODY STARTS TO COME OUT OF SURVIVAL,
THE MIND OFTEN PANICS.
IT DOESN’T TRUST THE CHANGE YET.

SO IT CREATES A PROBLEM TO FEEL “READY.”

HERE ARE COMMON WAYS IT DOES THIS:
    •    IT PICKS A FIGHT WHERE NONE IS NEEDED.
    •    IT REPLAYS BETRAYAL STORIES LIKE A MOVIE.
    •    IT DOOMS-SCROLLS AND CALLS IT “STAYING INFORMED.”
    •    IT OBSESSES OVER MONEY UNTIL PEACE COLLAPSES.
    •    IT SAYS: “THIS IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE.”
    •    IT STARTS LOOKING FOR WHO WILL LEAVE NEXT.

IF THIS IS YOU:
YOU ARE NOT FAILING.

YOU ARE DETOXING FROM A LIFE WHERE PEACE NEVER LASTED LONG ENOUGH TO TRUST.]

~4. FOR THE (AN)TIDOTE.

HERE IS THE MOVE THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING:
